The island Lefkas, or Lefkada in Greek, is situated south of Corfu in the Ionian sea on the westcoast of Greece. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
The area of Lefkas is approximate 290 sqm and has a population of 24.000. 8.000 of them live in Lefkas town. The name Lefkada means the white rocks at the south point of the island. They are famous for their beauty. Though there have been tourists in Lefkas for more than 20 years the island has managed to keep the original Greek atmosphere.
